This little festival that would, could and should… has done it again… for four years, so far!

Dedicated in name to the Maestro Billie Harris and his urban-legendary Venice, CA spot, the AZZ IZZ Jazz Club, Cultural Center and Tea House. This Black Arts Movement outpost ran throughout the 1970s along the street we now call Abbot Kinney.

We work in the spirit and ethos that brought the world the original 1960 REBEL JAZZ FESTIVAL at Cliff Walk Manor, in Newport, Rhode Island… Theirs was a party in protest that took place at the sime time as Newport Jazz , and just blocks away - on a cliff - at the beach.

These are our inspirations… along with the ethos of the Black Arts Movement and the inclusion of Fred Hampton’s true and real Rainbow Coalition!

This is NOT y/our Mom and Pop’s “Jazz Festival”.
